Louis P. Blanchette

STRATHAM, N.H. — Louis P. Blanchette, 75, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness.

Mr. Blanchette was born March 13, 1933, in Rochester, the son of Louis W. and Genevieve (Perreault) Blanchette. He was a resident of Stratham for the past 15 years, having moved from Portsmouth. Before his retirement, he worked as a lab technologist at the local hospitals. He worked with Meals on Wheels in Exeter and enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, camping and gardening.

He leaves his wife, Karen Horsman of Stratham; two sons, Daniel Blanchette of Missouri and Tim Blanchette of Center Tuftonboro; three daughters, Luanne MacDonald of Kennebunkport, Maine, Christine Hardy of Barrington, and Karen Lorenzo of North Carolina; three brothers, Raymond Blanchette of Sumter, N.C., Phillip Blanchette of Sumter, N.C., and Joseph Blanchette of Rochester; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

SERVICES: Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the H.J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main St., Rochester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary Church in Rochester, followed by burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
